Ghost in the Shell 2017 Review

The film is a visual masterpiece. It captures the essence of a futuristic cyber robotic world filled with holograms, tall skyscraper buildings, and bright colors with floating street lights. It is a cross between Aeon Flux and Blade Runner. Now, if you do not know or have not seen one or both previously mentioned films, please save your time and sit this one out. The “Matrix-like” action scenes are full of martial arts moves, furious gun battles and explosions. But that’s it. Is that enough? Maybe?

Finally, in 2017, Warner Brothers got it right. Not only is Kong: Skull Island a refreshing look and interesting concept for what seems to be Warner Brothers next franchise film, but it is the best Kong monster of them all.

Logan Review 2017

From the opening scene, I knew that this was not the Wolverine of years past, but a brand-new era. The body count was high and the savagery was endless. Body parts and blood splatter were plentiful. As the metal band, The Drowning Pool, so poignantly stated in their 2001 metal anthem, “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor”.

Get Out 2017

Get Out is about an African-American man, Chris (Daniel Kaluuya), visiting his girlfriend’s family for the very first time. He is concerned that his girlfriend (Allison WIlliams) has not told her family that she is dating an African-American man and seems unsure of how he will be accepted. Once he arrives at the family estate in Alabama, he notices that some people are acting odd. And the people he notices acting strange are all African-American. There are warnings that he should “get out”, but this seems to be much easier said than done.
