My movie going interest lead I to go see the town rated R. A very well done drama written and directed by and starring Ben Affleck, Blake lively, and the reliable Jeremy Renner. It runs  for 125 minutes.

The Charlestown neighborhood of Boston is renowned for churning out a high number of armed robbers, generation after generation. These robbers never leave their Charlestown life on their own volition, the neighborhood where there is an unwritten code to protect that lifestyle.Ben Affleck went back to his home town of Boston to write, and direct this gritty drama about the city of Charles town, where the local employment trade is bank robbery among its citizen’s. Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) is the unofficial leader of a cast of characters which includes James “Jem” Coughlin (Jeremy Renner), Albert “Gloansy” Magloan (Slaine), and Desmond “Dez” Elden (Owen Burke.Jeremy Renner. Ben and Jeremy are best friends in this well written drama. A monkey wrench gets into the works when Ben falls in love with a female bank manger from bank they held up Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). She can identify a tattoo on the neck one of Ben’s crew which has the making of a problem for the crew. What takes place is Ben Affleck trying to balance his emotions between his feeling for Claire, his crew and the FBI agent tracking him and his crew. The acting of Ben Affleck, Blake lively, Jeremy Renner, and Jon Hamm was outstanding all around. I ‘m still trying to figure out how they did some of those stunts. Dougy decides in one scene he wants out of the lifestyle and goes to the prison where his father is to tell him of his decision. His father felt the need to tell him what happen to his mother when he was a kid she commits suicide. Dougy goes back to the boss at the flower shop and say im done. He tells him one more job Dougy say anything goes wrong I’m coming back to kill you the big boss laughs at him. I’ll let you watch it to find out what happens to the big boss. I love how they used Fenway Park as back drop for a fantastic heist and shootout scene with local law enforcement officers. They did an admirable job using the town itself to get a real feel what it’s like in the Charlestown.I thought the combination of the cast back ground of the city and its history, story line makes for a good time at the theaters. I give it 4 stars.
