When Mattie Ross’ (Haliee Steinfeld) father is murdered by the notorious Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), she makes it her primary duty to seek him out for justice. Mattie hears rumors of a skilled body hunter Marshall named Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) and hires him to help her search for Chaney. A Texas Ranger, LaBoeuf (Matt Damon), interrupts her arrangement to bring Chaney into town when he plans to take Chaney to Texas. Will Mattie find Chaney and avenge her father? Will LaBoeuf find Chaney first and take him to Texas for a crime he committed there?

Review:

I enjoyed watching this film. I absolutely love, love the dialect from the characters, especially Mattie Ross. She is only fourteen and yet she is so strong, smart and very persuasive. I haven’t watched a western since “The Rifleman” and it was very pleasing. The scenery, the building and wardrobe made me feel like I was born in the western times watching a regular film. I’m not too fond of the ending, yet it was a good ending, but I didn’t like the way things turned out. All in all, good film but I won’t see it again because this is the type of movie I would only see once.
