Less sailing and more trekking, to a hardcore fan of the POC (Pirates of the Caribbean) trilogy this may come as a faint unwelcome change. Sailing the high seas, battles in swirling stormy waters, Cannons raging and ships been blown into smithereens is quite seldom in the 4th addition “Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides”. Despite the change in direction and cast the entertainment did not lack any significant flaw.  Gore Verbinski definitely set the right pace and tone with his directorial of the Trilogy that caught the hearts of us all and instilled Captain Jack Sparrow as an in-house favorite. Rob Marshall does justice with “Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides” and keeps the franchise afloat.

Johnny Depp as always was a treat to the eyes.  Geoffrey Rush stood his ground and was very powerful.  Ian McShane was as dark as THE Blackbeard should be, Kevin McNally loyal and funny & the beautiful Penelope Cruz was the ideal lover for Jack Sparrow. It’s a challenge to pick even a fly in the ointment with such precise performances. Never did one portrayal drop in power and penetration. You have to live the character and all these stars did. Splendid and inspiring to all those amateurs who would wish to pursue careers in acting!

Smartly written and smartly executed in its direction. As I mentioned once before this may come as an unwelcome change since most of the thrills take place on shore and the lack of the Black Pearl can be felt and it is missed. This also work as a positive since it moves away from being a parody to the previous trilogy and reinvents itself as an original approach. A risky challenge to be taken upon by the team, yet a success voyage on its own J

Captain Jack Sparrow rescues his fellow pirate faithful Gibbs from the gallows whilst impersonating a Judge, setting the tone in the opening acts with slight comedy and good old chaos. Jack ends up finding out that yet another imposer who happens to be moving about by the name of Jack Sparrow is signing up a crew for a voyage. In order to set things right Jack takes it on himself to expose the imposter. On a parallel timeline, Captain Barbossa who seems to have lost the Black Pearl at sea sails for his Majesty King George. Both in a conquest to conquer the infamous fountain of youth!

What will they face this time round with all the new changes? It’s something you have never seen before on POC. Don’t wait; find out it’s never a waste to sign up to be on board with Captain Jack Sparrow.
