Rango stars Johnny Depp as the voice of Rango, a domesticated chameleon thrown into a world where he must find who he really is. After being thrown from his owners car during a road collision, Rango finds himself in the a dry strange world; the desert. With no real friends and only the Hawaiian shirt on his back, Tango sets out to see what fate has in store for him. Joining Johnny Depp includes the voices of Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina, Bill Nighy, and Ray Winstone to just name a few.

After walking a distance into the desert, where he can no longer see the road, Rango stumbles upon the western town of Dirt. With his strange dialect and bright Hawaiian shirt, it’s obvious to the townies that Rango isn’t from around there. In order to gain popularity and trust from the people of Dirt, Rango feeds them a tall tale about his bravery of killing a slew of men with a single bullet. With most hope lost being that there has been a drought lately, Rango bringes new hope with his arrival and becomes an instant hero.

I am not a big fan of animated films but I was surprisingly impressed with Rango. The animation was very lively and the story was very interesting. Rango was definitely a character to hold ones interest!

Director Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) joined Depp for another great film. They’re a great duo in all genres! I recommend this movie for all ages.

My verdict: 4 stars
