Just watched I am Number Four. The beginning of the movie jumps directly into action, leaving you wondering what’s coming next, though you are not immediately satisfied with the results. The film takes a bit of a entertainment laxative, but makes up for it soon after. Visual effects in the movie were good, but the plot was somewhat lacking. Though Timothy Olyphant has greatly improved his acting, there still seems to be something stale about him. The scripting and acting of the bad guys was bad, but not so much as to drive me out of the theater. The climactic points of the movie did keep watching and quite entertained! It will be a shame if they do not release a sequel, as the movie did have the effect of leading you with wanting more. All in all it was a good film, I may not buy the dvd, but do not regret watching it on the big screen.

Hello Woodlone,
I agree with you in regards of the plot of the movie. It did leave you in limbo but once the movie reached it’s climax it made you anxious to see what will happen next.
From my understanding the movie(s) are an adaptation of a serious of books so I am anticipating a sequel. In the meantime, I am going to read the books to get a better feel about the story.
Nice review! Do you recall any of the other characters or the director?
I do, I should have included that information. It was directed by D.J. Caruso, whom directed many television shows throughout the 90’s. Most recently he directed the following movies: Disrurbia(2007) and Eagle Eye(2008). Caruso interned at Disney Studios in the product placement departnent, this is where he ran met John Badham, who would become his mentor. He soon met Scott Rosenberg, and together they would make “cyclops, Baby”(1997) this would kick off his career. To further divulge on the characters, we would start with the main character John, played by Alex Pettyfer. John is a very powerful teen, masking both his power and true identity as he tries to blend into the normal life of a highschool kid. This is all in an attempt to remain hidden from a deadly foe. We them move onto Sarah, played by Dianna Agron. Sarah is a young woman, passionate about photography, whom meets John in school and soon aftet becomes his love interest. She gets caught in the crossfire of John and his equally powerful adversaries. Sam Goode is another kid John meet sd in highschool and later becomes his best friend. Sam is portrayed as the “nerdy” kid whom gets bullied by the “jocks” Sam believes in aliens and alien conspiracies, and believes aliens abducted his father. The final / important character not yet covered would be number six. Played by the actress Teresa Palmer, having no other alias, she simply goes by the name Six. Six, like john, has access to incredible power, she is both sexy and deadly, having a more intune grip on her powers. She joins John to confront their mutual enemy in the fight of their lives.
Wow! Very in depth. Have you read the series of I Am Number Four books? I intend to read them before the sequel comes out so I can get a better understanding of the story and characters.
Gonna check it out. I heard something that mad me laugh. Someone said it should of been called, “I am Number Two.” as it would of been a more appropriate title. LOL. But, I’ll see for myself and check back with you guys.
I understand why they would say that being that you only see 1 before him, but the movie makes it perfectly clear there were 3 total before him. The person who made that statement was either looking for easy laughs or spent too much time texting during the movie and not paying attention to the story. I’d guess the latter.
I am reading the books now Melodie :)
I’m snowed in. This would be a great day to get started reading them but, I’ll have to catch up a little later. :)
The books are usually better than the movies so I can’t wait!
