I think that many of the best songs in film are in the field of animated film, from Giacchino’s fabulous score for the movie Up to the great songs from the Lion King movie’s very famous “HAIYYYYYYYY NUWHEYYIAYYYYYY” song. I am making this list to honor the greatest songs in the history of animated film. BTW, I am not counting the anime or movies such as “Metropolis” simply because there are too many good songs in all of those movies.

5. A Whole New World – Alan Menken – Aladdin: The classic song of love, freedom and the enchanting Arabia, Aladdin’s A Whole New World created a beautiful world of music-based Disney films.

4. Colors of the Wind – Vanessa Williams – Pocahontas: The most incorrect Disney-history movie of them all, Pocahontas is truly a movie that has its moments and misses, but luckily, the music was great, so it worked out.

3. Down to Earth – Peter Gabriel – WALL-E: The movie is good, but this song is amazing, and Peter Gabriel’s vibe really show in his performance of the song, along with the incredibly catchy beat.

2. You’ve Got a Friend in Me – Randy Newman – Toy Story: The ultimate friendship song, Randy Newman’s You’ve Got a Friend in Me is just a great song that is inspiring as much as it is fun. and cheerful.

1. You’ll Be In My Heart – Phil Collins – Tarzan: One of the first movie’s I ever saw in a theater (Hercules was the first, Matrix the second), Tarzan was a very strong and inspiring movie, from the amazing music to the fantastically done music by the one and only Phil Collins.
