Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) is back in the director’s chair, but not in the process of making a Cloverfield sequel, but rather a redo of the Swedish masterpiece (and the best vampire movie ever) Let the Right One In. The film is written and directed by Reeves, and the trailer shows the resemblance of the original, but in a more trippy, creepy way.
The film is about a boy (Kodi Smit-McPhee) named Owen who is bullied at school and he is befriended by the girl next door (Chloe Moretz), who happens to be a vampire. I would recommend watching the original film, which is a must see for any fan of vampire movies where the vampires don’t sparkle, and it is available on instant view on Netflix.
Bottom Line: A. Should be good, though remakes of good European movies have often failed.
