If a summer movie is well deserved of the title of popcorn flick, then “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” fits that description perfectly. It’s a film that has you exited at the beginning, but at the conclusion of it all you feel empty inside. The film delivers on everything that makes a summer movie: incredible special effects and lots of action to boot. Generally, a film like this one creates a lot of hype by proclaiming it to be the best movie of the season. But when people go and actually see it, they find out that the hype wasn’t worth the price of admission. “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” delivers on the action and special effects, but it’s missing one important element that makes a movie great: the story. For this movie, the story does get resolved at the end, but the way it presents itself throughout the entire film is confusing. Also, some of the dialogue should have been taken out, and this is due to unnecessary one-liners spoken by the characters. But, the overall production on the movie is not too bad. “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” is enjoyable, but, the fact that Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer adapted a successful video game,  it doesn’t mean that this will be a successful movie.
