2010 Top 10 Movie Sequel Picks, a Mr. E Sneak Peek
Here’s my top sequel pick’s for the new year. And you know the worst part of knowing that a movie you liked has a sequel coming out…
first, is it gonna kill the franchise I’ve come to love and two is having to wait until next year to be able to review them!
Anyway here’s the rundown…
First on the list (in alphabetical order) is Mike Meyer’s…
Austin Powers 4
Austin Powers 4 is the next installment in the adventures of the International Man of Mystery. And it might focus on Austin’s nemesis Dr Evil.
Second up is the follow up in the very successful Iron Man series…
Iron Man 2
More adventures from billionaire Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) who leads a double life as an iron-plated crime fighter. Mickey Rourke will play Whiplash, a character that includes elements from that comic book villain and Crimson Dynamo, another Russian baddie. Sam Rockwell will play Justin Hammer, a multibillionaire businessman and a rival of industrialist Stark.
I can’t believe it! Third on the list is a new installment in the Ben Stiller family comedies,
“Meet the Parents” and “Meet the Fockers”…
Little Fockers
The story picks-up five years later and Pam and Greg now have kids, twins Henry and Ashley.
I loved the original “Predator” film starring Arnold this is a replay on that original…
Predators
A reboot of the “Predator” franchise. The Predator is an alien humanoid with advanced technology and a penchant for hunting difficult game. With interstellar travel capability, multi-spectrum vision enhancement and a light-bending armor suit with equally advanced weaponry, the Predator is able to travel anywhere, hunt anything, and usually succeed.
Fifth on my 2010 list of top sequels is from the series that I really loved as a kid and even really enjoyed the last installment of Rambo. This is a new spin on what Rambo’s skills can be used for…
Rambo V: The Savage Hunt
A beast is loose somewhere north of the Arctic Circle…And the raging creature is headed south toward civilization, ready to wreak bloody devastation…It’s a job that Rambo and his 22-year-old hunting partner, Beau Brady, can’t turn down, but they and a team of highly skilled Special Forces Kill Team discover that the prey is beyond their wildest imagination, a half-human abomination created by a renegade agency through a series of outlawed genetic experiments…they’ll still have to confront the grim reality that it may have grown immortal.
For the second time Mike Myer’s make’s the list with his hit animated franchise Shrek in…
Shrek Forever After
Shrek (Mike Myers) has become a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre,” Shrek is tricked into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumplestiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona (Cameron Diaz) have never met. Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all of Rumpelstiltskin’s mischief in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one “True Love” and family.
It’s been too long! But, I’m happy to say that these goofy highway trooper are coming back and I can’t wait for…
Super Troopers 2
The Troopers are sent to the US-Canadian border where an adjustment to the border markers leaves Canadians on US soil.
Talk about being gone for a while! Eighth on my list is the immortal franchise that’s re-released it’s first two installments in 3D…
Toy Story 3
The creators of the beloved “Toy Story” films re-open the toy box and bring moviegoers back to the delightful world of Woody, Buzz and our favorite gang of toy characters in “Toy Story 3.”
With main cast member’s coming back the ninth movie on my 2010 sequels list goes to the action flick…
Wanted 2
The story continues to follow a young man who has developed his lightning-quick reflexes and phenomenal agility from training by a secret group called the Fraternity, who carries out death orders given by Fate itself.
Finally, coming in at number 10 on my Top Sequels for 2010 is…
XXX: The Return of Xander Cage
Vin Diesel returns as Xander Cage, an extreme sports enthusiast who gets drafted by the government for a dangerous mission.
