Cast: Steve Zahn, Milla Jovovich, Kiele Sanchez, Marley Shelton, Chris Hemsworth, and Timothy Olyphant.

Plot: A newlywed couple Cliff and Cydney (Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich) travel to Hawaii for their honeymoon. They plan to do some hiking and go on some trails. On the way to a trail they meet another couple Kale and Cleo (Chris Hemsworth and Marley Shelton) who are hitchhiking their way around the islands. They also meet Nick and Gina (Timothy Olyphant and Kiele Sanchez) another couple who are on vacation together. Once they all find out that another newlywed couple was killed on another island they start to get suspicious of each other and try to figure out who the killers are.

Breakdown: The movie starts off a little slow but once it gets going it doesn’t let up until the end. We don’t really find out a whole lot about our main characters but for this movie we don’t really need to. The only real problem I had with this movie was the many times they make us think these people are the killer or maybe it could be these people. It had too many red herrings and at times was a little too cliche. However, the brisk pace and convincing performances are what keeps this movie above average.

Performances: The performances are mostly pretty good here. Steve Zahn gives a good performance. This was a somewhat different kind of role for him and he plays it off very well. Timothy Olyphant, who I’ve never liked, gives the best performance in the movie. He really gets into his character and makes it so we can’t tell if he’s one of the murderers or not. Kiele Sanchez also does a good job here as Olyphant’s love interest. Only Milla Jovovich gives a slightly mediocre performance. She doesn’t show much emotion and never really adds a whole lot to the movie.

Overall: In the end I would call this a better than average thriller. Although it has too many twists the main twist makes up for it and the actors do a good enough job to keep you interested the entire hour and a half.
