Since lists are my thing, I would like to make an early prediction for the 2010 Oscars. The movies in 2010 look very good and interesting, such as the Cronenbergesque Repo Men, or the riveting crime thriller Brooklyn’s Finest, which actually puts Richard Geere, Ethan Hawke, and Wesley Snipes together. Wow.
Since I am looking forward to so many movies this year, which is actually a shock since I had only looked forward to three movies last year (Avatar, Moon & Inglourious Basterds) and so many turned out to be great, though many sucked something fierce (Transformers 2, Paranormal Activity, Knowing, Miss March, The Unborn and the granddaddy of them all Terminator: Salvation).

Here are my Oscar predictions for 2010:

Best Picture:
Shutter Island
The Rum Diary
Arrested Development
Repo Men
Brooklyn’s Finest
RoboCop
Alice in Wonderland
Inception
The Three Stooges
Robin Hood

Winner: Shutter Island. Why: Scorsese, along with that its the best book ever.

Best Actor:
Leonardo DiCaprio - Inception
Leonardo DiCaprio - Shutter Island
The Rum Diary - Johnny Depp
Josh Brolin - Jonah Hex
Denzel Washington - The Book of Eli
Jude Law - Repo Men

Winner: Leonardo DiCaprio - Shutter Island. Why: Its Leo in a Scorsese film.

Best Actress:
Cate Blanchett - Robin Hood

Winner: Cate Blanchett - Robin Hood. Why: Cate Blanchett is in a movie with a leading role.

Best Original Screenplay:
Inception
The Book of Eli
Repo Men
Brooklyn’s Finest
Arrested Development

Winner: Inception. Why: Nolan Brothers doing something besides Batman. Always a plus.

Best Adapted Screenplay:
Shutter Island
The Rum Diary
Jonah Hex
The Three Stooges
RoboCop
Alice in Wonderland

Winner: Shutter Island. Why: It was the best book ever, so it’ll win the best screenplay.

Best Director:
Martin Scorsese - Shutter Island
Ridley Scott - Robin Hood
Christopher Nolan - Inception
Bruce Robinson - The Rum Diary
Mitchell Hurwitz - Arrested Development

Winner: Martin Scorsese - Shutter Island. Why: His Oscar history with Leonardo DiCaprio.

I really messed this list up, of course I did it before any of the movies came out.

No probs man thats why it is a prediction list right and like you said you made the list early.

    3. J.C. Simpson Says:

yeah, but I should have thought it over. I knew they were going to screw up Shutter Island, so why didn’t I stick with Inception, and why are almost ALL of the nominees just like not even good? Biutiful and The Tree of Life need to be featured in the next one.
