The Book of EliGenre - Action, Adventure, Drama, Thriller.

Year - 2010.

Running Time - 1 hour and 58 minutes.

Story Breakdown - In a post-apocalyptic world, a man travels west across America, protecting a sacred book.

My Rating - 2 and 1/2 (out of 4)

Review - A-bit-above-average actioner feels standard when it comes to the post-apocalyptic setting, but it is brought up by having an interesting plot, an effective cast (Gary Oldman is especially fit as the bad guy), and stylish direction. Flawed mainly by lack of character development and exploring some familiar situations. Its messages are likely to be controversial, but the film is entertaining throughout, with a couple of first-rate action set pieces that stand out. The final twist at the end will seem ridiculous to some people, but will be curious to others (or both).
