G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, a Mr. E Movie Review
(Run time: 118 min. - Directed by: Sthephen Sommers - Starring: Adewale Akinnuoye, Christopher Eccleston, Byung-hun Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans, Dennis Quaid)
Action-packed and perfectly paced, G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a seriously entertaining film. Beautifully presented classic G.I. Joe characters all with a whole new age makeover. Couple that with outstanding, eye-boggling graphics and you’ve got yourself something worth watching, again and again.
When the ancestor of a medieval arms dealer decides to carry on his family traditions he makes sinister plans that can cost the world big. Making NATO believe he’s developing a nano-bot weapon for there use, James McCullen or Destro, played by Christopher Eccleston, secretly has a plan of his own. To steal them back and use them! But when the NATO guards assigned to transport the weapons are attacked they are joined in their fight by an elite group of secret soldiers, G.I. Joe.
Duke, played by Canning Tatum, and Ripcord, played by Marlon Wayons, team up with Snake Eyes, Scarlet, and the other Joes along with some of the worlds most advanced weaponry Cobras rise is put in jeopardy. Will Cobra’s plan ultimately prevail over the Joes? Will the fact that they’ve planned so far ahead let the Joes become overly confident? I guess those questions will have to be answered in the sequel.
Perfectly timed back stories added just what was needed at the moment it was needed. A perfect element when telling a story to a bunch of guys, ages 6 to 36! (Or older and maybe even girls.) Regardless this movie was a surprise. Especially with a majority of the movie reviewers dogging it liked they did. But, they where wrong about it.
Excellent performances from the entire ensemble cast made this obvious first installment of what is to be a series franchise right on target.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is recommended to every little boy who ever played with G.I. Joe and ever big kid that grew up to be one in their own way. You won’t be disappointed with this one guys. Go Joe!

I like your review I agree, I was surprised when I saw this film. This movie might not be intelligent but it is a lot of fun. The movie might not have the best story to it but the story that it does have gets the viewer from start to finish. Also the middle scene in Paris was really well shot and was really neat to watch, good review.
