I was expecting a lot before watching due date - said to be the funniest movie since the hangover, however the truth is i was dissipointed in it .Yes it was a fairly good movie but considering the all star pairing of Robert Downey Jr (Ironman) & Zach Galifianakis (Alan – The Hangover) and the hype which ultimately mislead my expectations in the first place it should of been so much better .
It wasn’t all bad though , if you are looking for a good movie to watch with your friends and have a laugh with few would surpass Due Date . It tells the story of Peter Heighman (Downey) who is on his way home for the birth of his child and is thrown off the plane as Ethan (Galifanakis) uses the words terrorist and bomb after also earlier breaking the door off Peters car . From then on Ethan tries to make up for his mistake by helping Peter get to his wife in Los Angeles . It is the typical road trip movie with plenty of laughs along the way.
The highlight of the movie must be the stunning performance of Zach Galifianakis , his character is simillar to when he played Alan in The Hangover he in his own word is “Blissfully ignorant” . He is the Homer Simpson of this movie as despite the fact he constantly messes up and makes Peters life harder you still want him to suceed .
