Actors are the only thing not necessary in movies. That being said, these people and their roles make actors a necessity in the best movies.

I have to agree with Edward Norton’s role in Primal Fear - it was unforggggg-etable! However, a further TOP actor roles in my opinion are Denzel Washington in John Q, Samuel L Jackson in Rules of Engagement and Dustin Hoffman in Rainman.

I loved Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man, but the other two not so much. It is really an opinionated view, whereas no one’s will EVER be exactly the same.

Nice list! A couple of those would definately be on my list. A couple others would be Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winfield and Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman. I have yet to see Moon yet so I can’t comment on Sam Rockwell but I know he is an amazing actor and I’m sure it’s great.

thanks for the comment. True, Bale’s portrayal of the sadistic Patrick Bateman was near perfect (since their personallities are so similar) and Jules is just awesome, but I think that Norton and Denzel needed to be recognized.

I saw 3. 4. and 5.
Overall I just think that Denzel and Norton are incredible actors. They are completely convincing in any role they play.
Norton varies his roles a little more than Denzel but Denzel is still incredible.

Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman is one of my favorite rolls ever! I also love Denzel in Training Day and Man on Fire!
