Pirates of the Caribbean-On Stranger Tides-Review

Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is set on another dangerous adventure, this time searching for the fountain of youth. The voyage turns into a race as the Spanish King, his nemesis Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush)-working for the British king-and his old flame Angelica (Penelope Cruz) all try to be the first and only ones to reach the fountain. The journey becomes more and more dangerous as Jack is forced to perform life-threatening obstacles so that Barbossa or Angelica’s father, Blackbeard (Ian McShane) will continue to delay themselves from killing him. Who will reach the fountain of youth first? Will Jack and Angelica rekindle their burnt flame? Will the British finally get their revenge and capture Jack for the hanging process?

I must say that I liked this film better than parts two and three. Sure, the film still has the over-long scenes of Jack escaping tight situations and his sword fights with the opponent, way too long but I still enjoyed it. The main factor I liked about this movie is that it is completely different from parts one, two, and three. With William Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Ms. Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) absent from this film, I first guessed that the story was going to start explaining their absence and continuing forward from part three, making it obvious that something or someone is missing. Watching this film, I didn’t even notice that Will and Lizzy weren’t there; I was always in-scene to what was currently going on. The location, costumes, animation, slight romance, goofy action, etc. were all worth the watch and kept-attention. All in all, I will see this film again.
